As Points Race Tightens MARA Set For Sycamore This Saturday With The Badger Midget Series
The Midget Auto Racing Association will kick the Labor Day weekend off with a co-sanctioned race this Saturday, August 30, for the Alexander and Schuck Memorial at Sycamore Speedway in northcentral Illinois. The AFS Badger Midget Series will share the stage for this event.
Including this weekend, MARA has five races left with the last event slated for October 11, at Coles County Speedway. The 2025 MARA points chase is very tight. After leading for most of the year, Jace Sparks had a bad night at Lincoln Speedway last Friday and yielded the lead to Mark McMahill for the time being. Tyler Roth and Daltyn England are also within striking distance of a MARA title. Sparks has announced via social media that his engine issues have been repaired and he will be at Sycamore.
The winner of the last MARA event, England, plans on running both Saturday at Sycamore and then Sunday with the AFS Badger Midget Series at historic Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI and the famed Firemen's Nationals. The USAC Midgets are also on the card for Sunday.
