Jones caps off title run; England earns second win in MARA finale
Mattoon, Illinois (September 14, 2024) - The Midget Auto Racing Association held its championship weekend on Friday and Saturday at the Jacksonville and Coles County Speedways in central Illinois. Parker Jones would take the Jacksonville feature and championship while Daltyn England earned his second win of the season.
Jones continued his winning ways, putting a mark on his ‘24 championship by sweeping the Jacksonville Speedway event. Jones took fast time, a heat win, and the main event of the evening. Following him to the line were Jace Sparks, England, Daniel Robinson, and Charles Kunz.
The Saturday portion of championship weekend saw England earn his second feature event of the ‘24 season at Coles County Speedway. Following him to the line were Sparks, Andy Baugh, Chris Baue, and Michael Hermacisnki.
In all the season saw an average of 22 cars. There were 15 events held and Jones took the most victories with four. There were seven total different event winners with five of those earning more than one victory. Those included Cale Coons, RJ Corson, Alex Midkiff, Jones and England. Single event winners were Daniel Robinson and Todd Kluever.
The series banquet will take place on November 9th with details to be announced at a later date.
